The Mountain Television Network’s channel 18 has a new anchor: Christina Cindrich.
A former Miss Pennsylvania Teen USA, Cindrich graduated from Layola Marymount University in California and has acted in C.S.I., Frasier, Boston Legal, According to Jim, Desperate Housewives and Spiderman 3, among others.

The Appalachian State University softball team wraps up its weekend series with the College of Charleston today at Sywassink/Lloyd Family Stadium.
The Mountaineers (17-19, 9-5) defeated the Cougars in Saturday’s nine inning opener 8-7. Later in the day Charleston (12-19, 5-6) dominated Appalachian 7-2.

It took extra innings, but the Mountaineers claimed the victory in the bottom of the 11th, 4-3.
The win moved Appalachian to 11-15 on the season.

Appalachian has been unable to get much going offensively, mustering only 2 hits.
High Point got on the board in the first inning after three straight singles.

The Mountaineer lead has extended to 12 runs, as they lead the Aggies 16-4.
One Mountaineer run in the bottom of the fifth and three in the bottom of the sixth brough the Mountaineer lead to 14 at 16-2 before the Aggies notched two runs in the top of the seventh.

This game is quickly getting out of hand for the Aggies as they find themselves trailing AppalachianĀ after the top of the fifth inning, 12-2.
Pitching and catching errors have plagued them so far today, as they have a total of four passed balls and four wild pitches.
