It’s senior day here at the Holmes Convocation Center, and the Appalachian State women’s basketball team is set to take on the visiting Eagles of Georgia Southern.
The Mountaineers enter the game with an overall record of 7-21 and 6-13 in Southern Conference play.

Mountaineers prepare for first game in new, completed stadium
It’s a pretty solemn day outside in Boone for Appalachian’s first game in Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium.
But the weather is mild, and barring any rain, shouldn’t interfere with any play.

It’s all over from the Holmes Center, and Appalachian has defeated Chattanooga 88-82.
Donald Sims put on a remarkable performance, leading the way with 35 points.
Kellen Brand also chipped in 20 points for ASU.
The win moves ASU’s record to 12-17 overall and 9-10 in the SoCon.

The Mountaineers have gone cold as of late, totaling only 2 points in the last four minutes.
