Appalachian football added additional honors to the completion of an already successful regular season Tuesday, as the Southern Conference named head coach Jerry Moore, Coach of the Year, quarterback Armanti Edwards, Offensive Player of the Year, and linebacker Jacque Roman, Defensive Player of the Year.
The Coach of the Year accolade was the sixth of Moore’s career.
Freshman of the Year was awarded to newcomer Samford University’s freshman quarterback Dustin Taliaferro.
The Jacobs Blocking Award was presented to Furman’s Joel Bell.
